Mallard's second concept album, this time about one man's obsession with pornography, takes a rather different story arc than his first album, but is all presented with the same expert knack for danceable indie pop tunes and meticulous attention to the small sonic details that give audiophiles plenty to get their teeth in to. There are so many brilliant lyrics that exhibit pity bordering on contempt for the characters within, but also a healthy dose of sympathy that offers the redemption which they seek in this sordid little world. A fairytale this ain't. Favorite track: One Off The Wrist.
